The Science Behind How This Works

Pauseture offers Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement® lessons taught by Guild Certified Feldenkrais PractitionersCM®. Each lesson helps refine your interoception — the internal sense of your body — while regulating your nervous system through slow, mindful movement.

Is this like meditation or movement practices like yoga or Pilates?

Think of it as movement meditation. Unlike yoga or Pilates, there are no poses to hold and no teacher to copy. You listen. You move in ways that feel good for your body. You adjust and explore variations. And it’s in those variations — even in the mistakes — that real learning happens. That’s how neuroplasticity works.

Is it like chiropractic work?

We share a goal: a more aligned musculoskeletal system. But instead of adjusting your bones, we help you reorganize movement. As your muscular effort balances out, your bones shift naturally. These lessons also build skeletal awareness, so you can move more efficiently by leveraging your skeleton—not overworking your muscles.

Can this help with physical therapy?

Yes — many people use Pauseture alongside physical therapy. These lessons help you feel the movements and sense what's happening in your body. You might discover how your foot impacts your shoulder, or how hip pain relates to your opposite shoulder. That kind of whole-body awareness enhances long-term recovery.
